<image:caption>The best Softball athletes understand what’s going on around them. All fielders must learn the importance of their speed, power & body control. As they are expected to turn double play and how to charge balls. By learning the minutiae of Softball, athletes will be the strongest, most well conditioned & knowledgeable athletes on the team. Grit coaches are professionals who are driven to get the best out of their charges. Youth sport development is an area often overlooked and underappreciated. <image:title>Softball - Baserunning - Stealing</image:title>
<image:caption>The best ability is availability, players that cannot get on base are expendable. Athletes will gain an understanding of defenses and how best to beat them. Batters with an understanding of fielders weaknesses will be able to expose weak arms to get on base. When to bunt, which pitchers cannot throw accurately to bases w/ runners on will result in extra runs & forced errors. Speed coaches from the NBA, USTF (United States Track & Field) and other NCAA programs will design drills to increase an athlete’s ability to transition from batters to baserunners. Specifically focusing on turning at 90 degrees and creating burst & separation.</image:caption>

<image:title>Softball - fielding - Throwing</image:title>
<image:caption>Charging grounders is essential to Softball. Yet, the best players understand not only to charge the ball, but to charge with intent & purpose. This means acquiring the skills to burst forward, field the ball while preparing to throw without thinking. Athletes must be able to change direction & throw accurately while their momentum is taking them elsewhere.</image:caption>
